Double, then double again. For 4 × 7: double 7 is 14, and double 14 is 28.
Every answer is even, and 4 × 12 = 48 is double 24, which is double 12.
Which facts are really new?
Swapping the order does not change the answer (4 × 3 = 3 × 4), so if you already know the tables up to 3, only these 9 facts are new: 4 × 4, 4 × 5, 4 × 6, 4 × 7, 4 × 8, 4 × 9, 4 × 10, 4 × 11, 4 × 12.
The pattern in the last digits
The last digits of 4 × 1 up to 4 × 10 are 4, 8, 2, 6, 0, 4, 8, 2, 6, 0. Then the pattern starts again.
