The 7 times table
The 7 times table lists 7 × 1 up to 7 × 12. Below you will find the full chart, the quickest way to learn it, the few facts that are really new, and free practice.
The full 7 times table
- 7 × 1 = 7
- 7 × 2 = 14
- 7 × 3 = 21
- 7 × 4 = 28
- 7 × 5 = 35
- 7 × 6 = 42
- 7 × 7 = 49
- 7 × 8 = 56
- 7 × 9 = 63
- 7 × 10 = 70
- 7 × 11 = 77
- 7 × 12 = 84
The easiest way to learn the 7 times table
Split 7 into 5 + 2: 7 × 8 = 5 × 8 + 2 × 8 = 40 + 16 = 56.
Only three facts are really hard: 7 × 7 = 49, 7 × 8 = 56 and 7 × 9 = 63. To remember 56 = 7 × 8, think of the run 5, 6, 7, 8.
Which facts are really new?
Swapping the order does not change the answer (7 × 3 = 3 × 7), so if you already know the tables up to 6, only these 6 facts are new: 7 × 7, 7 × 8, 7 × 9, 7 × 10, 7 × 11, 7 × 12.
The pattern in the last digits
The last digits of 7 × 1 up to 7 × 10 are 7, 4, 1, 8, 5, 2, 9, 6, 3, 0. Then the pattern starts again.
